Hi Reader,
I am breaking my own rules! I have been trying to send only one email per month and here I am back in your inbox to wish you a centring Equilux, tell you more about TASTE and introduce you to my new neighbours, Aplomb wellness!
I just love writing and have finally, finally, accepted it. For decades now I was trying to not be spitting image of my writer/nurse mother, but alas, she was a great lady with a great heart and some great ideas, and here I am happily following in her footsteps. ๐ฃ ๐ฃ ๐ฃ
Of course, if you do not want these emails, think it over (cuz I want to stay connected, but I really do love a "no"), and then after you consider what you want for your one precious life (in regards to your inbox).... if you have a no for being on this email thread, then unsubscribe and off you go! I will celebrate you as I wave goodbye ๐๐ผ ๐๐ผ ๐ข ๐ฅณ! โ And yes please, invite your pals to receive these messages! โForward this email or send them this link to view past newsletters, Thank you!!
First, The Equilux!
As day and night exist in fine balance, may your Spirits centre in Divine light.
I am just now learning about the equilux (officially this past Wednesday) which is when day and night are most closely equal. As we start towards the shortest day of the year I hear fear pulling at our channels.
I too get scared in lightlessness, a lack of sun is literally harder for our bodies, and there is much we can do to help ourselves align and thrive.
Following Nature leads us into harmony and attuning to season is a great way to improve and maintain well being. Use Acupuncture and principles of Traditional Medicine to harmonize with the season. Support Lung Qi in the Fall to help us weather the shift towards shorter days and longer nights.
3 ways to support Lung Qi this Equilux and beyond
- Go outside or near an open window for 5-10 minutes soon after you wake up (within 30 min)
- Eat more pungent white foods such as white pepper, cooked daikon or turnip.
- With cool mornings come warm breakfasts. Oatmeal with pear and walnut, or millet congee with scallions and mushrooms. Whether sweet or savoury either of these will support your Lung Qi, immune system and prep your body for winter.
There is great work done in darkness.
Darker days are meant to slow us down. I encourage you to take any little dip towards self reflection (perhaps with support) and wrap yourself up in a couch burrito a little more often. One of the biggest forms of counteraction towards the non stop industrial machine IS to shift with the season and lean into it, one blanket wrap at a time.
